That's interesting.

How big of a hassle is it for the recipient to cash those in? (mailing costs of the orginal contributor, administrative and mailing costs of the recipient, and then DF mailing back a check to the recipient, all for e.g. $18)

What happens if they never bother to cash those in? Or if they don't have a 501c3?

If you don't cash in it's like losing a dollar bill. And if you don't have a 501c3 they work with you some congregations with the correct paperwork are eligible.

Anyone use FidelityCharitable? Does any of these DAFs allow you to write regular checks?

Yes

What do you mean by "regular checks"? Ones that you write yourself and give to someone? I don't think Fidelity allows that.

Im hearing that he Donors Fund will soon be no minimums and will not cost the client any fees. (The charity will pay like any processing fees for credit)
Honestly, I prefer footing the bill and let the meshulach get the entire amount. TDF has that option now, not sure if it is going away.
