Ask: Will pay $75 for anyone that can hook me up with an official repair estimate for a broken printer.
Background: I have a Canon Pixma G4210 that broke (no longer wirelessly connects to a computer and also has a roller that doesn’t work). As the 1 year warranty recently passed, my only hope is the Chase extended warranty. However, Chase requires an official estimate from a service repair place. Speaking to various places, I gather that the cost to repair will probably exceed my $320 cost but none are able to give me an official estimate, just an e-mail or a house call for a high fee. I already tried Canon (manufacturer), Staples (the seller) and a bunch of others in NYC.
Fine Print (not so fine): $75 to be paid in any form requested. Must obtain actual written estimate in pdf format showing cost to repair (or statement that cost to repair exceeds cost of printer), items broken, printer model, address and EIN of repair place.
