Infant turning Two Mid-trip
« on: December 25, 2019, 09:29:24 PM »
Can anyone confirm that British Airways will assign a seat on the return leg when an infant turns two mid-trip? Is this still in effect? Are there any other airlines that do it?

Call them: Infants who become children while travelling

If you're travelling with an infant who reaches the age of 2 during their journey, your child will need their own seat for any flights on and after their 2nd birthday. We won’t charge you extra for this; you'll only pay the infant fare for the entire journey.

This booking can't be made online, so contact us and we'll be pleased to help you.

How about flying domestic with a lap child and infant turns 2 on the flight date, still eligible as a lap child?

If not eligible, since no documentation is needed, can't I just bring him along as a lap child like and pretend as if his birthday is the week after?

You can also go steal some milk from your grocery to pay for his flight.

Right. Was looking for confirmation of this policy in real life. Did not come across any complaints about it though....

When booking on AA through BA, will the child get a seat or only works on BA metal?

Which airlines accept milk as a form of payment?

It's a safety policy more than a monetary policy. Anyway for a lap child they do ask proof of birthday.

Not true at all and would be straight out stealing imho, but for some reason by some these type of "shtik" is considered ok.

Don't know. I think  I saw somewhere that domestically AA will allow a seat on the return without paying, but I am not at all sure.

As long as the kid doesn't open their mouth, you can get away with a lap child on domestic flights for a long time. Children aren't required to provide ID if under 16.

Talking from actual experience? Because a Google search shows otherwise, they do ask for proof of age for a lap child.

LOL, they almost never ask for ID. Unless they suspect something, the chances of you getting denied boarding for not having your kids birth certificate is basically nil.

On UA and B2, was never asked for ID, kid is identifiably under 2.

TSA doesn't require ID.
Always praying for delayed baggage.
