My firefox slowed down. My chrome and internet explorer work fine. Does this make sense?

It makes sense for them to run at a different speed, as firefox has its own control panel and isnt inter-graded in the windows one (like chrome)

These rapid releases irk me, I'm convinced the versions don't stay in Beta long enough.

But what's your basis for your statement that Chrome is more integrated (inter-graded? ) with Windows?

I don't think that means much. Either way, it's only a few (unused?) settings like proxy and stuff, at least that's what I just saw.

More then a few settings... also all the active x setting... page scripting

For the basic user its set to defualt that will work fine for them...

Meh, I don't think those make a difference, FF doesn't support activeX in the first place.

My point is that they run completely diff

I set up a proxy server internet for times I wanted to use my phone as a the proxy

Now - if i kept the setting on IE or Chrome I would have had to change theme every time I swiched from using my phone to regular....
Now I have FF with on setting and Chrome/IE with another - hence FF works seperately

But you still haven't made a case for Chrome being faster, and how that relates Windows integration. Those settings (proxy/ActiveX) shouldn't affect browser performance if they aren't used. Granted Chrome's rendering engine is different and is detestably faster than FF's engine, but that has nothing to do with Windows integration.
