“It’s not racist, it’s common sense”- Where have I heard that before? Yes, it’s racism by the book, and that’s exactly what matters. *All* racism is *always* backed up with some justification, accurate or not.

Also, quite the leap from what you do in your own home to laws you are requesting that the government enact targeting a specific ethnicity.. yes, I’d have a problem with anti-Asian laws no matter what goes on in your home. Are you not getting this?!

It blows my mind that you can’t understand that changing zoning laws with the stated goal of preventing a specific ethnic or religious group from moving in is racist/anti-Semitic. I literally can’t think of a better example of textbook racism other than actual physical assault.

First off relax. Don't have your mind blown on someone's opinion online. When the videos circulated I was pissed and when everyone tweeted support for the jews i was elated. (Full disclosure, I didnt watch her video). I definitely understand where it can be seen as racist/anti-semitic to a jew, and that doesnt mean that it is. . My point is that it doesnt necessarily fall into category of racism/ anti-Semitism. I can be wrong, however, I understand this to be the pushback on allowing change to the existing zoning and not making laws keeping jews out. Rather keeping existing zoning in place. Those hearings take place every day!

But I'm also not crying anti semitisim and I'm not horrified. What should I say, I see where she is coming from and I don't think it's rooted in hate.

Then you likely aren’t a student of history. This is exactly what anti-Semitism is. If you examine any existing racial animus close enough you’ll likely find some “justification”. That doesn’t make it ok.

I do think it's Anti Semitism by the book. It just doesn't horrify me and I don't think it's rooted in hatred of Jews. And I fully understand where she is coming from and I am not a racist person.

I retain this sentiment, however I did change my perspective from here. I now see that it's dangerous and setting a terrible precedent.

This literally happens all the time. In boro park across from shoprite there was an empty lot (now condos full of chassidim), but at one point there was a proposal to make it affordable housing. The entire frum community was up in arms about it.

That is not what happened here. Again, you need to watch the video before commenting.

Furthermore, if they were enforcing current laws *specifically* to make it more difficult for white people (and that was their stated purpose) you’d better believe it would be wrong and condemned across the board.

People might have been up in arms but you better believe nobody said publicly the reason was “to keep others out”.

Where frustration comes from is no excuse for a bad action. Is Palestinian terrorism wrong? Do you understand where it comes from?

Furthermore, she has no more entitlement to live anywhere in America than do Jews. She’s frustrated when Jews move in and they make her feel uncomfortable, so they shouldn’t be able to move in so as not to put her out? Is she “more American” than them?
