You do realize it’s unfair and textbook racism to hold a community to a higher standard, right? You can make a plea for better traffic safety without simultaneously apologizing for inexcusable anti-Semitic intolerance.
The Buffalo shooter had plenty of excuses, no doubt.
Absolutely. The anti semetisim is abhorrent. I'm on the receiving side while walking to shul minding my own business almost every shabbos. And they will have to face their Creator one day and give a din vcheshbon. My point is that we find ourselves in a set of facts.
Fact # 1: We
are in golus. The sooner we internalize that
for ourselves, the better.
Fact # 2: We shouldn't do foolish things (like driving like a NYer in Lakewood) to exasperate this, even if we are right and they are wrong. Be smart, not right.
Nothing of the above means that we should allow our rights to be trampled upon. Like when Jackson and Toms River tried using local laws to stop building shuls it was 100% correct to sue them to stop those illegal and anti semetic laws. But some good old fashioned sechel is always called for. Yes, we are held to a higher standard, and we should live up to it.
