Yea... sorry, I'm not really seeing the problem. If it was part of material in a class on the dangers of extreme political rhetoric and incitement, I don't really see an issue. These things happen in the real world, and ignoring them doesn't help our kids. Even if you do disagree with the teaching methods, it definitely doesn't belong in this thread.

Hate crimes continued to rise in the state of Florida over the last several years. According to the FBI’s 2020  Hate Crime Statistics report  (the most recent data available), 56.1% of nationally reported religion-based hate crimes in 2020 targeted the Jewish community. In Florida, hate crimes against Jews accounted for 80% of the religiously motivated incidents in 2020, and antisemitic hate crimes have risen 300% since 2012.

If it was just rhetoric, I'd be with you on this. Unfortunately, it's not. They are aggressive, violent, and purveyors of extreme hate. You need to look at them like you would an Islamic extremist. You may not have an issues with someone believing in Islam, but when those beliefs translate into a dangerous environment and an inability to peacefully coexist, we have a problem that demands more than a dismissive shrug.

There is massive prevalence and casualness around crime and mental illness in NYC, and no one is talking about it. Self-medicating using substances had been normalized and that only masks (and I suspect exacerbates) the issue further.

I'm in the middle of the new Ken Burns doc The US and the Holocaust. Really eye opening the extent to which antisemitism was out in the open in America at the time, and the extent to which the Nazis borrowed ideologically from various movements in America. The doc is a little heavy handed on trying to tie things in with the current political climate, but still really well presented.

Tree-hugging liberal snowflake judges have been doing this long before bail reform. They want everyone talking about them. Desperate for attention, or just despise law & order, which is why they’re there altogether.
