My view on a statement like Rav Miller's is that whatever happens we are supposed to take a lesson out of it. When a tragedy happens and we say it may have been because of this that or the other thing it is simply to take a lesson from it for personal improvement. It is not to lay fault.

What a liability for Jews worldwide, dormant antisemites now have an excuse to come out in the open.

A. That the Zionists were wrong with thinking they had a solution for anti semitism does not absolve the anti semites of their agency and responsibility for their actions. I think you agree with this.

B. This anti semitism is not justified even if Israel was actually committing genocide, blah blah blah, as what does a shul have to do with it, as they can go to an Israeli embassy to protest. Obviously once you're calling for an intifada you're not interested in peace and that exposes your cover, but this is clearly anti semitism which is always 100% unjustified no matter what excuses you make up. See AOC anti semitism today.

I actually agree with both. Was just pointing to what that tweet fell short of recognizing, that antisemitism, which is never justified, is always getting exacerbated because of the actions of the state, just so we know to appreciate the brilliant idea.

Don't worry they would blame climate change, corporate greed, department stores, pro ABC soup, anti ABC soup, etc. on us, like they always found stuff throughout the generations.

Those excuses existed before the Gaza war too, unless you are not aware of the explosion of AS in the wake of it, which I'm sure you are as you regularly report about that.

Shame on Biden for not having the justice department with their thousands of agencies doing anything about all this.

They’re more worried about someone doing donuts on pride graffiti.

@EliJelly I apologize for this comment. It was not helpful.

To clarify my thoughts on this:

The anti Semites "protested" on October 8th. This was before Israel went into Gaza and while terrorists were still in Israel. Their problem is the existence of Israel and its Jews. Nothing to do with the Israeli government, its response, or the "occupation". In other words, age-old anti-Semitism, and hating Jews for being Jews. The appropriate response for us Jews to anti semitism is, as always throughout the generations is to look inward and come closer to Hashem, all the while we know that the anti Semites are evil and unjustified in their hatred towards us. This means that the movements towards Yidden being closer to another, leaving all their old "friends" and coming closer to their brethren and Hashem are all positives. Wrapping themselves in Teffilin, being mekasher themselves with Hashem, his Torah, and his Nation is a positive. Lighting Shabbos candles, praying for hostages, keeping a mitzva for a hostage is a positive. The state of Israel should understand that it has to indeed become a Jewish state and cannot be counted among the family of nations, as they will forsake her in time of need. This also means that they are responsible for safeguarding the lives of their citizens and soldiers and not try to please those who will never be pleased, but with the loss of yet another Jewish life. It also means, that we must work to be mekarev those in the government and bureaucracy of the state of Israel, instead of writing them off the same way you wouldn't let someone drown who swam in a stormy beach without a lifeguard. And yes, if you don't know how to swim in stormy seas, maybe you shouldn't be the one doing the rescuing, but definitely give them support.

So, yes, the anti-Semitism was aroused, as usual, by the smell of Jewish blood and the thirst for more Jewish blood. We should do our part to bring Mashiach and not hold him up further.

I appreciate your take. My alluding was to the known notion in Kli Yakar on למה תתראו and others that for Jews it's best when they're not in the limelight. We see that whenever Israel is in the news, the antisemites raise their ugly heads. Of course there has always been and there gonna always be antisemites, but clearly there is a direct correlation with Israel being in the spotlight and AS rising in the world, as they're the very epitome of למה תתראו and the proclamation of כחי ועוצם ידי, which results in Jewish suffering around the world, contrary to the illusionary claims of Jews having a home state is beneficial, and the slogans like "never again" etc. All these antisemitic attacks which are always being so amplified by the state and it's defenders as an attestation of why the Jews need a homeland, is in fact indicative of the net loss the state is for Jews globally. At the same time, the results of widespread feelings of achdus, looking to be closer to yiddishkeit etc in the wake of this tremendous tzarah is definitely a positive, let's hope that these sentiments will last.

Stam., the shul was hosting an event to buy real estate in Israel. That was the cause for the "protest"...

So when non-Jews do what non-Jews do, it’s the state’s fault, but when Jews do what Jews do, it’s despite the state?

You mean you wanna give credit for the state for their blatant neglect on the southern border Simchas Torah, which brought about that massive tragedy which enabled the mass tshuva sentiments as a result of it? Sure, go ahead.

“Today is a dark stain in the history of Los Angeles.

Violent extremists who proudly praise Hamas and Hezbollah marched outside an Orthodox synagogue in America’s most heavily Jewish neighborhood outside of New York - where my kids go to school, where my family worships…
where my family eat and shop - and brazenly terrorized Jewish Angelenos with impunity and without any consequence.

These violent masked domestic terrorists bludgeoned Jews, vandalized synagogues, schools and stores, keyed cars, assaulted anyone who appeared Jewish …
blocked Jews from entering their synagogue, and chanted for the genocide of the Jewish people.

These violent masked domestic terrorists are now dispersing into Jewish neighborhoods hunting Jews and causing more destruction and vandalism.

The worst part: …
these terrorists told us when and where they were coming.  For a week, we pleaded with our elected leaders to speak up.  Not one made a public statement condemning these extremists.  We pleaded up with our elected leaders to protect us but LAPD told us these elected officials told LAPD to stand down and not intervene.
Simply out, our elected officials are not keeping Jewish Angelenos safe.

Fortunately, proud Jews and well-organized Jewish groups stepped up to prevent a mass casualty event and the total destruction of the Pico Robertson“

If that pretzel makes sense to you, then the pretzel of blaming antisemites for antisemitism (instead of blaming Israel) should go down easier.

Mayor of Beverly Hills:

https://x.com/LiliBosse1/status/1805085604042203188
Kudos to the mayor of Beverly hills. They have been very supportive of Israel and they had hundreds of Israeli flags right down on Santa Monica Blvd near Rodeo Drive several months ago when I was there for winter break.
