To be fair, there is a class warfare element involved as well, but I don't believe we'd be having all these random attacks on Jews without Antisemitism. (Are there random attacks on hipsters that we're just not hearing about?)

Ease up a bit. What he's saying is, if I'm understanding correctly, is to understand the root of the problem, which is what they THINK we are doing wrong. The hate can come from their perception, or reality, or both. If jews were nasty people, their perception of us being nasty would be correct, as well as it being a reality. If we aren't, it's merely their warped/biased/ignorant/agenda'd perception of us, which would be a good place to start proving them wrong.

And due to scarcity of housing, and the absolute need by Shomer Shabbos yidden to cluster in certain areas, there's just that potential for friction. Now pour some genuine antisemitism, class envy, etc onto that friction, and it bursts into outright antisemetic violence or at the very least antisemetic feelings.

CLE's east side is nearly all black or Jewish, and I haven't heard of any race issues or attacks on the 100,000 Jews clustered here.
But people are much friendlier to each other in CLE than in NYC.

THen they will find other excuses. I have experienced this in areas where there were none of the mentioned issues at all.
