Would like to hear some thoughts - what makes a racist/bigoted attack worse than an identical non-racist attack? If someone punches me in the face because I’m Jewish or black, or simply because they’re bored, why does it make a difference? In both cases if I got my face punched I feel the exact same pain.

And if you believe there’s a difference, is there a difference between a racist and bigoted attack?

I have some thoughts about why not all attacks are equal but haven’t got a chance to think it through fully and come up with an eloquent explanation.

I don’t think that’s the issue. IMHO the problem is the fear that the rest of the group has to constantly live with, knowing they might be next.

Umm, both of those quotes were claims to be Jewish, not references to Jewish ancestry.
