Are you in favor of tougher penalties for criminals in general? That is something I would like to see.
The problem is when you give LE more leeway some abuse it. That abuse is mostly directed at minorities.

Most of the solution is the problem communities wanting to change from within. Deterrents don't eliminate hate, it just makes people more reluctant to act on it. If the black community owned up to the problems within it, they could solve them faster than anyone.

In North Miami Beach they come and pay ny prices . Then they rent out villas etc.   It's frustrating TBH.

Also, they use our shulls and don't contribute the part.

I was in NMB a few weeks ago, Davened in Kahal Chassidim which attracts most of the villa renters/owners. On a very pushita shabbos they sold the Aliyos for at least $125 each, Shishi was sold for $800, in addition to the at least $18 for every Mi Shebeirach. The Gabei called out the guest before, saying "M'bet the guest zullen zich varem unreefen"

I don't know where you Daven, but I've clearly seen how they managed to make the guest contribute a fortune.

As a side note, I didn't know you live in NMB, but I socialized with many very geshmakeh people over there, including from Chabad (which has a beautifull shul and a large growing community) I hope you were one of them

I wasn't implying they are the only community with problems, but they are the ones we are discussing at the moment. Something I've been saying for years: If every "people" had a sense of community like I do with my fellow Jews, we'd be in a much better place. People don't go homeless in my community. We look out for each other. We help each other on physical levels, emotional levels, and financial levels. It's about taking responsibility for each other. Why do I talk to blacks who are telling a "survival"  story of how they got out of their community? It's because their community is dragging them down instead of lifting them up. It's taking good individuals and destroying them. Again, There is scum in my community, there are problems in my community and so on, but as a whole we are united, and it makes us stronger. Instead of using our sense of community to validate those who make bad decisions, and pretend that it was ok, because they are one of us, we use our community to help them rectify what they've done.

Well, can be a crime, the other isn't. Intent to harm can get you arrested. I can hate whoever I want, as a matter of fact, I can wish them dead. That's my freedom. Obviously you say something about yourself if you do indeed do that, but if you don't show intent to harm, there is not much to be done.

Obviously, the latter, if he acts on his violent thoughts, he should be jailed. But let me ask you this - is it okay for me to tell a Black Joke? A Polish Joke? A Jewish Joke, etc? If you are Polish, and I tell a polish joke, what are you going to think? That I am a nice guy who is slightly bigoted - or "If this is what he says when I am in the room.."
