Even with the bonus the transfer rate is still mediocre (200 Amex points to 150 Elevate points) compared to some of the other transfer options, but for those who prefer to fly Virgin America (like myself) this rate lets you use your Amex points on Virgin while getting proper value.

From what I read in the blogsphere, transfer to VX (even with this bonus) is a really cr@ppy value for MR.

With is promo it would cost around 21000 amex points for a roundtrip IAD/BOS/PHLNYC-LAX/SFO.
