Costco Returns
« on: January 08, 2020, 03:53:08 PM »
Just went to Brooklyn Costco and made a return of a bunch of unopened items.  While waiting online the person scanned my returns and gave me the return slip to hand to the returs department.  She than told the cashier to give me a Bulk Order Agreement to sign.  They were 5 boxes of Godiva Holiday chocolates, 1 -Weighted Blanket, 1- blender and a work light.
I have a business membership. They accepted the return and made me sign a Bulk Order Agreement.  They told me from now on, anything I buy for Business or personal only has a 3 day return policy.  It doesn't matter if I just buy 1 item.  No where on the form does it state it applies to everything. This form looks like it needs to be filled out each time you buy in Bulk.  They said it applies to the account.

I admit, I do make a lot of returns but the cashback I get from Costco due to having the executive is usually in the mid $400 range  so I am purchasing over $20,000 a year.

I attached the form and blacked out my personal info.

I also typed out the form and it is as follows.

Costco

Are you saying that that form will work towards all future purchases?

Never heard of such a thing before.

I buy alot for business at costco. If they feel you you are abusing them they can stop you from buying multiple quantities. Best idea is not to abuse your costco membership.

I agree. Just stating what they made me fill out and what they said. No where on the form does it say it applies to all future orders.

Don't want to have to make another membership and pay the $120. I would also lose the tax exempt that I have on this account. It's a not for profit organization that I buy for. So the account has tax exempt when I tell them.

You should speak to member services and ask them to rescind that 3 day restriction. The problem is if you buy in a way that it looks like you are in business, by purchasing alot or returning alot this could stop you from being able to return. Having a tax exempt is an automatic that you are in business.

I will test the return policy next week on something I actually want to keep. If they give me an issue will ask them to show me where it says and if they show me the paper i will say no where does it say cant return. This paper is suppose to be used for each item when you buy.

I wish you luck. As I mentioned i buy for resale and Oceanside and Lawrence have made me sign that paper to restrict me in returning and matching for a lower price if price was lowered. I have not had that happen in Brooklyn.

Clothing will buy many sizes and color.  if the wife and kids don't like, return.
A lot of Costco purchases are impulse purchases.

According to the form, It asks for a date and Item number.  So how can they apply it to all purchases?
Technically they need to fill out a form for each item when you make the purchase.

I never bought in that quantity.  The max I bought of 1 item is 10-12.
