Never had any issues with Amex doing it? I thought it was a known F/R flag. No specific knowledge either way with Chase, but it can certainly trip up flags.

If I am understanding correctly, you make a payment when you don’t owe anything or greater than what you owe to increase your CL. This does not work with all CC issuers.

I've done it many times with Chase. No issues.
