family trip to israel
« on: November 12, 2011, 07:44:22 PM »
we r planning a family (10+ ppl.) trip to israel  and want to pay for some of the tickets by churning cards and gaining miles.
we have time to plan, we r looking for suggestions like which cc to open, should we sell the miles, which airline has the best family plan...
any input would be appreciated

if ur willing to hustle u can still get the CO UA personal and biz @ 30k ea. then try and match to 50k for a total of 200k
then add to the personal 3bm a sapphire preferred for another 50k   and to the biz 3bm an ink bold for another 50k
for a total of 300k CO/UA miles

Doubt you'll ever get over 10 award seats on a flight to Israel on any carrier. I'd get a few of the Citi 50k aa with the 3BM then amex MB plat 50k. And transfer the amex to BA or Qantas and book a oneworld (iberia?) Award.

You are probably best off racking up as many points as possible (many threads on how to do that) and sell the points, and then buy tickets. (Unless you are looking to fly business. Although, as mentioned, it will be very difficult to find 10 seats on any airline)

AFAIK airlines max 9 seats in coach when availability opens up. I have gotten all of them, by the way.

this summer i made 755k in one day of credit card apps (two people) that would be enough for 8-10 tickets but on different airlines. but many of the offers are not as good now
i got
 2x amex plat 100k (now 50k)
2x chase saphire 50k
2x chase southwest 50k
2x citi aa 75k (now 50k)
1 75k amex gold bus (now 25k i think)
1 30k spg
1 co 30k+20k
1united 30k+20

if the op is willing to hustle and is still relatively new to the game and has three+ people with good credit i don't see why it isn't feasible
