If you have just as good apples at home/in stores, it is not poshut at all to say that one is allowed to do a melacha for fun.

If sitting down to a semi meal of hot pastrami and fresh kugel, I plan on eating fresh choch brownies for desert, more than a kabeiah ;) (w vanilla ice cream btw).

Can I make a leishev at the beginning of the "meal"?

(Eating a kabeiah brownies first is no fun.)
