Heard the following. A family who rents out their basement went on a trip. They left their house at 4am. Their tenants were away for the weekend and when they arrived home they realized they were robbed.  What happened was that the landlord was having a cleaning lady that afternoon so they left their door unlocked so she can get in.

Does the landlord have any responsibility for the loss of the tenant?

from what I understand that if you have house keys with a car key(and/or fob) it wouldn't make the whole ring mucza because you still have use of the house keys to get into your house.
