it seems that the device is actually stretching the ring so it doesn't break when opening and can now be screwed on again afterwards. If my assumption is correct , why is that not in it if itself makeh bepatish?
figured the same, cant see exactly what it does, but looked like it cuts a new pattern into it...

The literature accompanying the video claims that when the cap is placed back on the bottle the ring will break off the next time the cap is screwed on unless the device is used the second time. If this device is successful it will be its own undoing, since the manufacturers will no longer have a tamper proof bottle and will have to redesign it....

What? Because because a few Jews are opening bottles with the ring they will re-invent the cap?!?

Bending the small plastic sticks that hold the ring on is not considered a molocha. On the contrary the problem this poses, is now that this device is available you should be able to open the cap regularly as breaking the ring is not necessary!

No cutting. It just bends the small plastic sticks out so they don’t hold the ring back.

Perhaps they should be more clear in their "halachic analysis" that it "may" be an issue to open a closed bottle on Shabbos, as is actually written in some of the haskomas. Not just write point black that it is an issue.
It’s a chashash De’oraisya, Shabbos, korus. Not sure what more you need.

True
I'm still not sure why this is relevant, everyone should ask their LOR and follow what he says regardless of whether he is maikel or machmir.

Just the convo we need, bottles on shabbos.
The very simple psak- AYLOR.

I still see potential problems with this piece,
A. Why are you not still creating the cap?
B. Pushing the spikes aside/widening the ring, allowing the bottle to open should be makeh bepatish, as @moko mentioned.
C. If the problem is with the bottle this doesn't help anything.

Still this seems to have some respectable haskamos.

A. The creation of the cap would be breaking the cap off the ring-something the company didn’t do. But pulling off the whole thing including the ring together is not creating anything new that the company didn’t create.
B. Why would it be makeh bpatish? Your not completing a kli-your just pulling  off the kli
C. Does anyone hold the problem is with the bottle? The bottle is definitely a complete kli and your not adding to it, if anything your making it less which would be mekalkel.

Basically the company created a kli called ‘cap with perforated ring’ and if you take the ring off the cap you made a new kli (acc. to some poskim)
But removing the whole kli (partly mutilating it btw) avoids the problem of creating something new.

Yes, R' Moshe holds the issue is making an opening on the bottle.

Even though the bottle was already open in the factory? What's the source?
If you don't care why would you comment?
