Also, DW says that a hand mixer is much better for cheese cake than this type.
Yea, the latest trend. Today's dayanim always manage to throw in some practical ideas too. Good customer service

Today’s daf talks about tzad chilazon. Does anyone talk about tzar bal lchaim? Is this brought as a proof that hunting is mutar when there’s a need? I think there’s supposed to be a nodah beyudah that says hunting is assur, is that only when it’s for fun? Would this be a proof that it’s mutar?

Tzar baalei Chayim is discussed in the first part of Yoreh Deaiah. There is no tzar baalei Chayim if there is a need and that it what has to be done.

So nothing to do with the nodah beyudah? He is talking about hunting for sport?

Noda B'yehuda posits that hunting and killing the specie is not bklal Tzaar bali chaim, only torturing it while it's alive is. But then he moves on that still it isn't in the Jewish nature to engage in hunting for sport and therefor a Jew should avoid it. Tzad Chiluzon is not related then.

I don't think we need to come on to this to conclude that hunting is mutar when there's a need. Yitzchok Avinu didn't seem to have an issue with it.

For fun?
The thing with the hamster is that running on the wheel is actually what it is trying to do.
