AFAIK there isn't, it doesn't even require a minyan.

A shul paid a couple of men to stand outside on Yom Kippur with a list of names of paid memberships. Anyone not on the list wishing to enter had the option of “committing” by giving their name & number to be written down & to be called by the shul for payment.
Is this muttar ?

I've always thought that "yizkor in shul" was a combination of Jewish guilt and a fundraising technique.

It sounds like only shul in BP would do that, and it's a shul with dwindling membership....

And they’re turning people away. Great business strategy.

1) Is a shul allowed to pay someone to write ?
2) Am I allowed to give my info to be written ?

Sounds like conservative and reform where you need tickets to enter on RH/YK
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

You'd think. But this is orthodox in the heart of BP.
