Does this need tevila? It is a kli seuda made for decoration only, but it is also functional.

Used to insert half pound dip plastic containers in..

Doesn't seem like it holds food.

+1, according to the description, doesn't touch the food.

Speaking of tevila, do appliances from Bingo (the new supermarket in BP) need tevila? They have a store brand (everything is Blu-**** - I think the appliances are Blu-Tago) and it says on the side manufactured for Bingo.

Is there a hechsher?

The fact that it is manufactured for them is not sufficient. They need to be the owners at the time of manufacture. Some frum companies do not do this correctly.

and even that might not be sufficient. Uman koineh bshvach kli. See the  y"d 120 10  - taz 13  shach 24. It would seem that so.w sort of kinyan is needed.  Also depends on the reason of uman koineh bshvach kli as how to avoid the issue.

Anyone have a source that it's permitted to light the havdala candle without first saying atah chonantanu or baruch hamavdil?
If you don't care why would you comment?

I get that, but it's seems strange that you need to say havdala in order to say havdala. Was wondering if there's any source addressing this issue one way or the other.

You don't. You need to say havdalah in order to do melachah.

which he is asking since its a necessity for havdala al hakos
however, i am pretty sure the ikar havdala is in tfila and havdala al hakos was instituted on and off over the years, depending on wealth

Ikkar havdalah regarding melachah is havdalah b't'fillah.

Ner is not havdalah. It is ner. It so happens that they were m'sakein to say it during havdalah al hakos, but it's not m'akeiv.

If we weren't supposed to say havdalah b't'fillah, maybe they wouldn't have been m'sakein ner during havdalah al hakos.

We are, though, so the question doesn't even begin.

Clarify, do you mean that you will put it up before shabbos and let it cook through shabbos?

I don't see why it would be any different than with a crock pot.
The water in a sous vide should get to yad soledes bo, or 110 degrees

theres no blech
Some poskim hold that you can cover the knob or buttons instead of a blech.
Without a blech, it would have to be edible before shabbos.

It would need to be 1/3 to ½ cooked before shabbos starts or totally raw at the being of shabbos.
