I personally don't drink coffee, but I personally would not drink from starbucks nor any non kosher store who prepares there coffee together with the rest of treif store, they use the same hands filled with the kentucky fried chicken or in starbucks when the just finished cutting in half the cheese burger which they warmed up in the microwave/oven/toaster and then go fill your cups of coffee up and use the rag to clean the machines with there oily hands touching everything, and they use the same dishwasher for the basic metal utensils which they use to make the coffee, and together cleaning all the plates which served the food and non kosher cake /meat /cheeses...

To me I see it all treif, and don't see why there's a heter to drink from these stores, the funny part is I have never seen any rav nor and hashgacha given or allowed such coffees from such stores..
Or maybe there is and I never saw it, I mean a normal hashgacha not some rabbi out in the boon docks.
Unlike glass which is totally different which im sure lots hold its ok to use whether a bar or on a date...

What about Batul Beshishim?

What about Batul Beshishim?
That typically does not work when it is being done for you.

The heter is based in the dish soap. Part of Starbucks' unique washing process involves hot water without soap, that's why it's more problematic than other venues.

The Starbucks heter is that it's store policy to wash the coffee equipment separate from the tarfus, plus the water coming into coffee bowl is only kli sheini.

Exactly. These would not be defined as milchic or fleishik keilim.

Question is can I kasher treif bb"c together with treif bb"c? - Same thing.
Fair point.

That Simin talks about intentionally being mevatil an issur. The barista at Starbucks isn't doing that.

Menachem613 means that the barista is not intentionally trying to slip you some chazer in your coffee.

Why are the intentions of the goy relevant? What counts is that you are asking the goy to do something for you based on this that he we be mivatel any issur. That is the classical case of mivatel bishvilo. It is not based on the goy understanding hilchos taaruvos.

Also, on what basis are we assuming there to be shishim?

That is the psak of the RMA. Some achronim notably the sfardim but also ashkenazim argue. The minhag is typically to be meikil

This is a classical case??

I'm not asking the goy to mix tarfus and nor does the goy intend to mix tarfus and nor is there a certainty that tarfus will be mixed in.

All I am asking the goy is for a latte.  Hardly a classical case.

The goy's intentions are irrelevant

If intentions are irrelevant in determining whether non kosher food is Batul then what is your criteria?

The Goy's intentions are irrelevant but the Jew's are not. If the Jew instructs the Goy to do something which will be mivatel issur for him it makes no difference if the Goy understands what is happening.

But those are not the facts here. The facts here are that I am asking for a Latte.

You are asking for a latte based upon the fact that any issur there will become batel (and the assumption of which I am not sure of the basis that it actually will be batel)

You're wrong about the Halacha. Second, in a 12oz latte there would have to be about a qtr oz of traif mixed inside there.  I'm done.
