In the past, whenever we've gone away, we've always taken tea lights for Shabbos, and bought a lighter at each destination. Finding an acceptable place to put the candles is sometimes difficult; once we had no place to put them but the bathroom. A friend said that's unacceptable. So, looking into flame-less tea lights. Some even have 5-6 hour timers. Perfect. It will even save some money if we don't have to buy a lighter for a single use (not going to try to get matches at a bar). But what to do about havdalah? Can we make havdalah without a real flame? If not, are gas tiki torches OK to make havdalah by---they look like they have multiple holes on top---is that acceptable? Any other ideas?
