I'm planning to fly from Israel to the US after Shavuot.  As I live in Israel, I observe only the single chag day here.  My understanding is that in theory I could fly the day after Shavuot from Israel, while the 2nd day of chag is still being celebrated chutz l'aretz, but I would be prohibited from traveling in New York until after the night after the 2nd day, as someone might see me and get the incorrect impression that I was breaking the chag (do I have that right?).  My question is would I be able to travel through Europe and switch planes while 2nd day chag is being observed there?  Or would the prohibition include being seen even inside the airport buildings?  TIA.
It is my understanding that you have to stay in the airport, so a plane change is fine. But AYLOR.

At what point does it go from being assur to being mutter? That's the real question.

In the airport? If it's YT in the city, you can't do melacha. Which in this case would include entering/leaving the tchum and a bunch of other stuff... So this scenario would be asur.

On the plane I would assume it goes based on where you left from.
This kinda question usually comes up with fasting where there's a change happening in both the place you are coming from and the place you are going to, and the Question becomes which location to go by. Here there's no change on the flight itself, it's not YT for you when you take off...

I don't see how that is relevant. Lmaase this is the accepted psak that many Israelis land in JFK and wait in the airport until after Yom tov. (Yes JFK is it of the tchum. I checked it.)

Here you also have is an issue w/ maras ayin. Out of the tchum is ok, is b/c there is no issue with maras ayin seeing as there are no yidin in the area. (As shown in 244 if there are any, it is an issue.) In an airport there are definitely yidin...

Just cuz people do it, lav davka is it ok.
So find out what the accepted psak is for you by
AYLOR.

What breaks up JFK from the techum? Parking lots?

Among other things
Even being populated on 3 sides couldn't get it boxed in?
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Whats the opinion regarding toivling a popcorn maker?
Anyone ever tried and did it work afterwards?

See here Rabbi Hieneman holds you dont need to if it will break afterwards but I am thinking my Rav will hold it will  need a teivilah.
