All Halocha Shailos and Tiffeh Questions

Ignoring the pun, but I do find it quite interesting that this is something that has been occurring for thousands of years and should have been thought about long ago yet I only know of discussion about it from recent years.

perhaps we are living more indoors then ever before and we have a hard time discerning flashes of light from real lightning...

I remember a guy in yeshiva wanted a picture of a rebbi and took a picture of him while he was looking in the sefer. He snapped a picture with the flash and the Rebbi stood up and said a Bracha

That does not seem like a question of discerning the bolt from the flash.

Perhaps an answer to that is, is that we currently live in a very spoiled generation, everything is a given, and when something small doesn't come our way, we get all upset about it. Something which we can be so accustomed to, and use everyday without even thinking about it, out ancestors, not even too long ago, would never have dreamed that it could be a reality... (Cars, running water, toilets) That being said, in order for us to get inspired, we need something very large and vast. With today's technology, we can literally see and feel an experience that is occurring thousands of miles away. Unlike the generations prior to ours, in which they must of had a tremendous amount of inspiration just from seeing an unusual phenomenon of "their entire surrounding light up, from some listening, without needing to see any bolt... The question only arose in contemporary times, where we may have felt that in order to make a Beracha of Oiseh Maaseh Bereishis, perhaps we need to see the entire lightening bolt... And only that would be sufficient, but in truth, just seeing the entire sky light up is an awesome occurrence, really showing us the Oiseh Maaseh Bereishis!

But from a Halachik viewpoint... maybe Taos עכו"ם...

There might be a point, you currently are in possession of a valid first class ticket.

So according to your logic, one would be allowed to buy something, to use, and then return? He is in possession of a paid for item.

Practically all big stores that I can think of do that. Costco takes it to a different level

I can buy something with the intention to return it after I'll use it to death??
 
Yes, you may technically be correct, that they will accept the return, but is it still within the Terms & Conditions? And be allowed Al Pi Halacha? (Unless, since they are accepting it, so now it's allowed because of Taus Akum?)

Just to put it in perspective for you: It's coming the Yom Tov of Sukkos, so I decide, I'll go to costco, pick up some folding chairs, and after YT I'll return them.
I buy flowers for YT, now their dead, uh, they allow me to return it! Huh?
I buy a jar of pickles for YT, have a half a jar left, great, let me return it!

That's within the T&C??? It's my understanding, that if for whatever reason you should decide that you don't want an item you purchased, be it because it didn't fit your needs, or that it broke within a time frame where it shouldn't have broken etc... fine, return it.

But to buy something with intention that your "renting it for free", and just give it back after you use it, how is that allowed?

Just another 2 examples that I know really happened.

1. A woman returned a dead Xmas tree after the holiday season,  she made it to the news... (Don't remember the exact details). So she used the tree for her holiday needs, and now she should be able to return it??? (If they take it back, that's their problem)

2. A man returning a couch that he used for what look liked 20 years, and all of a sudden, it's no longer comfortable. So he can return it? Get his money back? He got his use, be happy, and buy a new one! (My brother saw this take place at his local Costco a few years ago).

Only thing I can think of, is that they allow you to return it,  so it's tuff on them. But from a Haskafadik veiwpoint, is that OK? What about the Chillul Hashem you'll make when you return your dead flowers. (Actually, this was seen as well by a relative of mine)...

Why is it Walmarts problem that your hotel screwed up?
