For someone that wants such a type device, would you say it's worth the $100 more than the previous generation of this model (https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/inspiron-14-laptop/spd/inspiron-14-5440-laptop/useichbts5440gsss)?
Minor differences, like newer gen CPU and graphics, with TB output.
Lunar Lake is radically different. Efficiency sometimes results in double Meteor Lake's battery life (granted that in this case, reviews are showing about the same). In addition, the Arc 140V in Lunar Lake is worlds better than Meteor Lake's Arc graphics, possibly also due to the RAM being located inside the processor package instead of elsewhere on the motherboard.
In this instance, being that battery life seems about the same, I would say that $100 is a lot unless you are stressing the graphics.
To return to this topic: the full set of reviews are out. Dell XX Plus models are worse in almost every way than the Inspiron XX plus they replace:
CPU performance is down (like all Meteor Lake versus Lunar Lake models)
SSD is worse, throttling at 3.5GBps versus the steady 5GBPs of the previous models
Battery is smaller, doing worse than eliminating the gains from Lunar Lake
Port distribution is worse (though some ports are better)
However,
Weight is a bit less (probably entirely due to smaller battery) and the computer is slightly thinner
Graphics is better (again, like all Meteor Lake versus Lunar Lake models)
