When ordering a ride in advance, do they send out the ride request at the selected time (as if i'm ordering it then) or does the car come at the selected time?

It's *supposed* to come at the selected time.

Lyft - request gets sent out at the time you request and gets accepted by the drivers to come at the certain time.
Uber- request get sent out at the selected time.
