Finding lodging in the park is really, really hard. I think it might be the only NP that we gave up and stayed outside of. I forgot the name, but it was a fishing-oriented lodge on a beautiful lake, not far from the park entrance. Pretty basic rooms, but the location and price worked for us, and a nicer place would have been much farther away. This was 9 years ago, so things may have changed in the interim.

No, that wasn't it. I checked my emails and found the reservation. It was a place called "Diamond Lake Resort." As I said, the proximity to the park was great, but the room condition was extremely basic, and the showers left much to be desired.

Seems to be outrageously overpriced and nothing more than a dump.
Seems to me the better choice would be staying in Chemult, OR.
