5G in Israel
« on: January 25, 2020, 03:40:02 PM »
Considering a new phone, and want to know if I should get the 4G version or 5G. Is there any info on approximately when we can expect 5G to be rolled out in Israel?

Not sure how often you get a new phone, but it's expected to take at least 3 years from when they start rolling out 5G until it's nation wide in countries like the US. Israel hasn't even started yet.

Thanks.
Israel is much smaller than the US, though. So if the US takes 3 years, doesn't mean IL will take the same long.

Are you happy with 4g speeds?
I highly doubt that there will be any major technology that will be only available for 5g users for a while. Besides for 5g itself not being ready for a while.

Bkitzur I think you should stay with 4g for now.

Let's say, yes. But isn't 5G WAY faster than that? If it would be launched in the next 2-3 years, it would be worth paying another $100 for the 5G version. If it's not on the horizon, it's a waste of $$$.
