If I buy the MacbookAir on best buy trough the UR mall today ($850. around $925 after NY sales tax) I will get 10.185 UR points.
(calculation: 9250 (10% UR mall) + 925 (regular 1%)+ 10 (bonus point per transaction)= 10.185.)

with the estimated UR points value of 1.9 cents this will translate into $193 (and change)

makes any sence to anyone ?!

Why 1.9 cents? AFAIK the deal you can get is when spending on travel through SP for 1.25 cents.

You can transfer (via SP) to Continental, Hyatt and others, worth much more than 1.25cpm.

I performed a search and it seems that the elph-300 has touched $150 in the recent past. Should I wait and see if it will go lower? (I'd probably get it at staples and use a 25-30 off coupon).

Good point. I was under the impression that Chase Freedom offered Purchase protection and Extended warranty, but after Googling it seems I was wrong and those benefits aren't included on this card.

The literature I just got with my freedom card offers 60 day purchase protection.
