I personally know over 100 people in my immediate circle, who have had Covid19, and AFAIK none have any issues BH (may it continue so).
Can they have things like scaring of the lungs without even knowing it?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Would love to know what is considered "non-serious cases". I personally know over 100 people in my immediate circle, who have had Covid19, and AFAIK none have any issues BH (may it continue so).

Secondly, what is your proposition for what we as a society/country should do long term?

Not all damage is visible, and I highly doubt 80% of your immediate circle knows what their body feels like at 100%. Almost all of us have become accustomed to the various aches and pains we deal with on a regular basis, and seemingly minor variances won't really catch our attention. Personally, if I have a day where my body feels especially good, it catches my attention more than if I slept funny, or not enough, or pulled something, or ate something that didn't quite work for me. We're used to writing off the minor discomforts in our lives.

Secondly, I don't believe a long term plan is necessary, given the advances in medicine we see on a regular basis. However, I've written my opinion on short-term solutions I'd like to see, including mandatory masks, capacity limits for all indoor businesses, closing dine-in restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, conferences, and trade shows, regular testing of any public-facing workers, and tax incentives for businesses who allow employees to work from home and create minimal contact business models (curbside pickup, etc.).

Scary. Between those who think this is exaggerated, the fatalists who think there's nothing they can do to stop it, so live life and carry on, and the young people who think they're Superman, it's no wonder we're handling this pandemic worse than any other developed nation in the world.

Worse than the EU?

Worse than any nation in the EU, yes. The only country that rivals us for incompetence would be Brazil, and I'm hesitant to call them a developed nation.

You do realize the EU isn’t an actual country with a central federal government, correct?

Regardless, the numbers and charts still say they're doing better than we are.

It is hard to compare the two. When the virus hit NY the way that it did the rest of the country shut down, that didn’t allow the virus to spread the way it does naturally through the population. Now that these states are opening up the virus spread was pretty much inevitable. Also the fact that there is much more testing now means that you can’t really compare the case counts.. I am not saying that the current situation is good in the US, just trying to point out why the comparison isn’t a good one.

What do you mean?
Does anyone have as robust, advanced and accessible of a medical system as the USA?
No other country has the resources or sense of responsibility we do.
Most US practical medical research is US based while I think other countries get it from us.
Most of the countries barely know what to test for.
Many are not quite 1st world (even if not 3rd world.)

It's one thing to compare between states (and you see how iffy that can be) I wouldn't dare put them with other countries.

If I understand correctly you were saying something similar albeit with less background.

On a simple note, Canada is charging $200 to get a covid test. They're not some 3rd world crummy country. There's 0 chance that any of that info is accurate. At best its misleading, and its probably outright lies.

In America the public has been pushed to get tested, tested and tested again.

Scenario: You never had real  symptoms and you dont know that you've been exposed. You are feeling a drop under the weather. Do you pay $200 to satisfy your curiosity?

All the info all these European/Asian countries are making available. If people have been to any of them they would know there's no way.

So here is where we are almost in total agreement. A sensible approach like this, rather than an extensive lockdown, would be much more sustainable. I would just add to that a separate path for those that contracted the virus and recovered.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!
