Were you symptomatic? Perhaps only available for free if one has symptoms and if not need to go private and pay? Hypothesis

Hypothetically. If you were a 21 year old and all of your friends were free to do whatever they wanted because they had this virus already and are all seemingly perfectly healthy. Yet you are left out because you never had the virus, wouldn’t you have some sort of tendency to try and get the virus and “get it over with”?
DP, I know of young healthy people who were careful from the beginning, and have not contracted Covid19, who are now regretting it, because they feel they will be limited in the near future.

Even foreigners who don't have government coverage don't pay for covid testing.

So as someone who’s actually there do you feel their reporting is less accurate than the United States? (Which includes Florida)

And how wrong he was, both in regards to hospital bed availability and the ability to control the virus. Many countries had the virus controlled at the time you claim he said that.

Wrong because you say so? Again, this was an opinion at the time when projections (and news from Italy and Spain) were a lot more disastrous than what we saw here. This was a lot before the peak in NY hospital occupancy.

Was he wrong AT THAT TIME, based on what was known then? I'm not so sure. The schools and shuls did close and still 60%-80% of the community had the virus.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Yes. There was no reason to assume the virus couldn’t be contained by taking drastic steps. As has been clearly proven by every country that attempted it.

Remember, the consensus in every country outside of Sweden was that it could be done. This medical professional was quite the outlier.

On a simple note, Canada is charging $200 to get a covid test. They're not some 3rd world crummy country. There's 0 chance that any of that info is accurate. At best its misleading, and its probably outright lies.

False. Testing is free, at least in Toronto.

Just like contact tracing is only effective at a certain LOW level of positive PCR tests. It's just not practical once a certain threshold is reached.

At that time he didn’t know that such a large percentage of CH was exposed, so he had no reason to assume they would be outliers. The only thing he got right was that CH was extremely exposed, but they didn’t need him for that accomplishment anyway

and still 60%-80% of the community had the virus.

I would just like to point out two things about these numbers that keeps getting repeated on here.

From the Gedaliah Society:
Quote
...it would seem that a little over 70% of those in the age group 25-65 has been sick with a COVID-like illness, while only approximately 55% of those above age 65 have reported a COVID-like illness.

First of all, this is based on a survey of people who think they may have had it, and not on actual positive tests. Second, 70% of the 25-65 demographic, even with 100% participation, does not equal 70% of the entire population of CH. 45% of those over 65 who participated in the survey did not have it, and there are no numbers for the under 25 demographic, which constitutes a very significant portion of the CH community.

Yes.  And I agree with them.  The effect of covid on young, healthy people is negligible.
If the sick, young person isn't spreading it to the general population, go to it!

1) What do you consider negligible?

2) How is anyone ensuring that the young people aren't spreading it to "the general population?"

3) What age delineates young people from the general population?

In America the public has been pushed to get tested, tested and tested again.

WRONG.
Here in Ohio, its hard  to get testing without real symptoms. My doctor charges $50 to schedule it (booking fee?) and the test itself gets billed to insurance, and results take 8 days(!). My other pediatrician is not testing. The county offered free Covid testing with registration limited to 250 (!)people. This is a county with 1.2 MM people! Yes you can get it in CVS, but only with (self declaring) symptoms, or if you are a health care worker or work in a nursing home.

Testing supplies are being expanded across the state; however, testing remains largely limited to Ohioans who are the sickest and the most at risk of developing severe symptoms, Ohioans in nursing homes and other congregate settings, and professionals who provide care for the ill. This will allow providers to immediately and aggressively act to treat these at-risk patients and to take safety precautions to prevent spread of the disease. Your healthcare provider can advise whether you should be tested.

Not sure about Toronto, but in Montreal there's a bus that went around offering testing for $200, and only other place to get tested is ER.

I don't think that's correct, at least not at the present time. There are a half-dozen clinics in Montreal and they're free, per this page.
