Who said there's a moral problem with infecting healthy willing volunteers? Not every "Greater Good" ethical dilemma is a trolley problem.

That was the assumption of the original statement I was responding to. In that context (where there's a moral problem to infecting even willing vaccine test participants, and the problem is assumedly because risk of death/severe injury), then it is the trolley problem.  We can't do this action which will (in this context) lead to death of a single person in order to save more people.

IMHO it's like calling a volunteer army a version of the trolley problem. They're volunteers who potentially sacrifice their life on behalf of the greater good of their country. Trolley problem should make you uncomfortable no matter what you choose. It's just not the same.

IMO, the media being hypocritical and manipulative is not an excuse to downplay Covid, especially given the previous 2 headlines.

100% double standards and misleading the public all around. My issue is when we use the media's duplicity as a factor in gauging the seriousness of Covid. The virus is what it is, and the media's reporting of it has nothing to do with Covid and everything to do with the media.

The media is not the arbiter of Covid's severity. Using the media's reporting or standards to infer anything about what Covid is or isn't makes no sense. We've been hearing this since May. "The media isn't calling out BLM protests, so shuls must be safe." "The media isn't talking about Covid, just the elections, so Covid must be over, or at least not a big deal."
