Could this cause mutations
They're missing the strep going around.
Some say that Omicron came from a Flurona patient.
Would certainly explain why it’s so flu-like, but I didn’t see that anywhere. Thought it was a given that it was an HIV patient whose body didn’t clear the infection for months.Wonder if it would cause some people with Omicron to test positive for flu (on some flu tests maybe?).
Or COVID+common cold.https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/omicron-variant-may-have-picked-up-piece-common-cold-virus-2021-12-03/
And it’s possible this applies to people hospitalized for other reasons.
Thought it was a given that it was an HIV patient
AP dead or Obi dead?
I saw one hospital that had 100% attack rate in the pediatric department
Quotes in a signature is annoying, as it comes across as an independent post.
A friend’s mother tested positive for both flu and COVID two weeks ago. Then again, so did my brother in March 2020..
“Attack rate” lol, unless they only test immediately upon arrival
it could be people caught it there.
They doI think that’s what he means
Your two responses are contradictory. If they ONLY test upon arrival, then people aren’t testing positive because they caught it there.
What is the current recommendation for when you should be tested after being exposed to someone with covid? Most info I see is 3-5 days for a vaccinated person, but that info is 6 months old.
Haven’t seen anything suggesting it changed for Omicron, and depending on where you live (in the US) Omicron might not be as prevalent as you realize.
Is that true? I saw a CDC release where they estimate Omicron to be 95% of new cases over the last week.
