wow
anyone can just "open a daycamp," just to serve meals and bill NY?

They are making pretty decent money, like every good government program.

I don’t think that’s how it works, CMIIW but I think you need to be registered previously as a school with a lunch program.

Israelis ditching face masks in extreme heat wave.

Story has an interview with a doctor that says constantly touching the mask is worse than not wearing one.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

In the five boroughs of NYC:

1 out of every 333 people in the Bronx has died of COVID-19
1 out of every 378 people in Queens has died of COVID-19
1 out of every 400 people in Brooklyn has died of COVID-19
1 out of every 510 people in Staten Island has died of COVID-19
1 out of every 590 people in Manhattan has died of COVID-19

(Based on estimated population for 2019, so actual numbers may be slightly lower.)

How does this correlate to population density? What about on the zip code level where the data is more granular?

According to that, 11239 has the highest death rate, at 1 out of every 164 people. Crazy.

Even though 11219 is quite dark, with high percentage of cases, death rate is lower than other zip codes with lower case rate.

SI has the lowest population density, so that makes sense, but Manhattan has the highest while also the lowest death rate.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Maybe due to more hospital capacity. The small local hospitals were hardest hit and most overloaded.

I just saw the numbers, The Bronx has the highest percentage positive for antibodies - 27.9%. None of the other boroughs have more than 20% with Manhattan being the lowest at about 17%.

So there is a clear correlation of deaths to percentage with antibodies? That would obviously make a lot of sense, and give us a better idea of the IFR.

After speaking to an energy company dealing with calculating changes in usage, I may have some speculative insight into this. They are finding that energy usage changes are very dependent on the type of multi-family building. In low end apartments usage has gone up due to everyone being home, but in the higher end apartments in Manhattan the usage has actually gone down about 15% mostly due to many of the residents having laft the city to vacation homes and the like. This also lowered the density of Manhattan by quite a bit.

I wonder if the zip code map shows this too.

The question is when they left? Most of them left around the time the lockdowns were starting after most of the spread occurred
