Would love to know what is considered "non-serious cases". I personally know over 100 people in my immediate circle, who have had Covid19, and AFAIK none have any issues BH (may it continue so).

@Kobe bryent   Could you ask them?  This is a large sample, and it would be interesting to know if they have any lingering symptoms.  The article Lurker posted found that 50% had weakness and breathing difficulties.

The only lingering effect that I have heard of in my circles (probably just as large), is of some people not having their sense of smell (and possibly taste) fully recovered.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

So here is where we are almost in total agreement. A sensible approach like this, rather than an extensive lockdown, would be much more sustainable. I would just add to that a separate path for those that contracted the virus and recovered.
Do you think such an approach might incentivize people to contract the virus?

Yes. Especially young people.

Possibly. There was a time when people tried to get their kids to contract chicken pox, so that they should acquire imunity and not get it when older, as it was generally a lot less severe for children than it is for adults.

ETA: In Crown Heights, when the extent of the spread was obvious right after Purim, a highly respected medical professional in the community had initially opposed school and shul closings, arguing that since it's unstoppable, it's better if the entire community gets it early, while hospital beds are still available for the few that will require hospitalization, rather than contracting it later at a time when it is more widespread citywide, and hospital beds might not be available.

...and he has been proven wrong. At the beginning NYC hospitals were overwhelmed, now they are not. We know more now then we did at the beginning. Every day we learn more.

And how wrong he was, both in regards to hospital bed availability and the ability to control the virus. Many countries had the virus controlled at the time you claim he said that.

Interesting.  "AFAIK" is not always an accurate basis for drawing conclusions, since people vary in how much they naturally offer to say about their health.  It would be better to specifically ask them, "Do you feel that you have any lingering symptoms since recovering from covid?"

The us had already lost the fight against the virus by the time Purim came around. That’s why “flatten the curve” was the only option.

Then why do multiple EU nations who were in a similar spot AFTER the US now have the virus under control while the US is in it's worse position ever?

Have they lost their mind?
Hypothetically. If you were a 21 year old and all of your friends were free to do whatever they wanted because they had this virus already and are all seemingly perfectly healthy. Yet you are left out because you never had the virus, wouldn’t you have some sort of tendency to try and get the virus and “get it over with”?

On a simple note, Canada is charging $200 to get a covid test. They're not some 3rd world crummy country. There's 0 chance that any of that info is accurate. At best its misleading, and its probably outright lies.
Where have you seen this? I find it very difficult to believe that in a socialized health care system they are charging for COVID tests

Yes.  And I agree with them.  The effect of covid on young, healthy people is negligible.
If the sick, young person isn't spreading it to the general population, go to it!
