It's been a while since this was discussed, but over the weekend I heard about 2 people who were severely neglected in the early days of coronavirus.
One is my cousin who was rushed to Monmouth hospital for an induction so she didn't have time to pack up or prepare. Her husband was home sick with corona, and she forgot her phone charger at home so she had no contact with the outside world. After not eating during the whole L&D process, it took another 30 hours before she got any food. They claimed there was no kosher food available, but she didn't get the "non-kosher" dairy food even though she asked for it and would have eaten cholov stam which she otherwise would never eat.
The second was in NY hospitalized with corona, when the nurse came in on Monday morning to write her name and the day on the board, he asked for water and was told they will bring him water. The next time someone came in was Tuesday morning again to write her name and the day on the board, he again asked for water and was told they would bring it. Later that day, left with no choice he took a bottle of alcohol that was left in the room, crawled to the toilet, sanitized the toiled with the alcohol, and drank out of the toilet.
