Judging by the UK & Israel data it seems clear the US will hit 100k cases/day soon. (Your prediction of a fourth wave will materialize just after it seemed to have been off table). I would say very likely 500 deaths/days  and possibly 1000-1500, the main variable is how the new wave will influence vaccination hesitancy.

Israel is doubling every 2-4 days. UK is at 150 cases per million today while the US is at 35. The US has better vaccines but less quarantine adherence and etc

Interestingly, the UK still has less new hospitalizations, likely because the US has larger pockets of unvaccinated people whom are hit harder than the UKs Delta variant hits vaccinated people.

It's easy to blame the politicians, but the real problem is they aren't responding fast enough.

Israel doubling time is now 6 days (1100 cases yesterday) and we are right on track to get to 100k/day in the US.

Luckily the percentage of severely ill is much lower, likely because of higher vaccination rates in more vulnerable populations.

I still think modified mRNAs with scaled up production and mandatory vaccination will eradicated it by 2022/2023.

I get that (not sure I disagree with what they did). I'm more curious about the standard protocol for HC workers now. If the threat of weekly tests is supposed to be an incentive to vaccinate, it makes me wonder how often vaccinated workers are tested.

What does odds ratio mean? 1.5 > 0.5 means 3x the risk of infection? After only 12 weeks from second dose? If true that’s a really lousy number.

But if they’re comparing vaccinated to other vaccinated, then its relative odds but all still within the 90%+ effective vaccine, which means you’re still very unlikely to get infected, even at the 0.5 ratio.

I'm not talking about safety at all, I'm talking about efficacy. If that chart is just showing a significant relative efficacy difference between 2-4 and 12 weeks, but in absolute terms the difference is miniscule, then it doesn't necessarily make a practical difference on the policy level.
