I recently opened Citizens Bank checking and savings for $600 SUB.

Found a code on eBay for bonus with less onerous requirements. Applied online for DW and got declined! 

This morning my son told me that he tried applying for Citizens bank account (he was unaware of more favorable bonus available) and he got declined too.

What's the story? This never happened to me (other than Chase which has me blacklisted).

After fulfilling all requirements for bonus and waiting for a full month, bonus didn't post. I called Citizens today and it's being escalated.

As for DW I think there might be an issue with her name/ID as I seem to be unable to open up bank accounts online for her without ID verification (few will work online, others will require branch visit)

If you have had issues with bouncing checks or overdrawn accounts that would be on chexsystems and would likely cause problems with opening an account.

BTW you can get your chexsystems report for free just like your credit report.

Got a call back from Citizens on Friday and they said I should get the bonus by 12/15.
