Spirit just added a 2 dollar fee to offset their loss at the 24 hour cancelation policy!!

Of course it's not cheap. And it's not worth it.

         I'd rather pay a bit more and fly an airline that has better service and earns me valuable miles.

 The people who buy Spirit either think they are getting a great deal! ( They don't factor in the added fees)
or can't afford to pay the $20..$40...etc more to fly United...Delta etc...

And then sometimes even when factoring in the added fees Spirit is still considerably cheaper.

 I flew them once. That was enough.

yeah because ppl who go to florida for just the weekend and have clothes there already dont need to bring any baggage so for them it is worth it

yeah it may be small but there are more than just florida goes also business ppl who dont need baggage
 and even with baggage it could be cheaper
