For the short connections I had the following assumption/rule: 45 min in ZRH, as he stopover was part of a connecting flight + this was the shortest legal connection.
On a more practical note, I had to change aircraft and go from gate X to Y.
However in an airport such as STR, the flight out of there was on a separate ticket, so I had no legal minimum connection time to respect, as well as my calculation being that since the plane departing (Swiss) is the same as the one that just arrived, even if I'm delayed getting into STR, so will the departure be delayed, as they are using the same aircraft.
I had 25 min connection time typically in STR.
Well, I was wrong, as the aircraft flying this route is a small one (with stairs being part of the plane), so didn't unboard the plane at the gate, but where brought in by bus to the main terminal, while boarding was happening at some gate far away.
Also, when boarding for a flight that has a bus bringing you to the aircraft, boarding can start before the plane is ready, as they just have the people waiting in the bus.
So my first flight into STR had a delay, and entering the airport building I heard:"This is the last and final call for Mr SF flying to ZRH..."
I made the flight.
