Full-day Europe stopover NYC-TLV
« on: February 05, 2020, 02:16:51 PM »
I'm looking to book a trip to Israel in the summer (around August 11-19) and would like to have a full day in either London or Paris on way there, and fly nonstop on way back. Longest stopover I've found so far is about 5 hours before needing to book as a multi-city. Obviously, I want to pay a roundtrip fare.

Any advice on how to get a nice long stopover on this route?

TIA.

Search on matrix with minconnect
Chase has also given me some nice 12-23 hr stop over opportunities through their UR site

Thanks all!

Maybe I should post in another thread, but how practical would it be to arrive in either LHR or CDG one morning, take the Chunnel to the other and stay overnight, and fly on to TLV the following day? Two people with luggage.

But if I land in London on Monday at 7 am, and leave Paris the next day at 10 pm, we'd anyway be looking at a multicity, no?

When would be the best time to book? Seems a little far out to me, or will prices only go higher?

Looking to do similar but a week later. And for some reason I'm thinking that it's better to fly direct there and stop off in Europe on the way back.
Any advice is much appreciated.

Why make the stopover on the way back? Time zone change is anyway crummy going east. Fly back nonstop and you’ll lose less time.

Most flights going east are overnight, you will prob ne tired hitting the ground in Europe, especially with kids
You'll prob be fresher on the way back

for those wondering how it was built i did each leg seperatly in the GDS i use as in jfk-cdg and then did cdg-tlv within 24hrs so it counted as a stop (13hr ) not a multi city and then did direct back tlv-jfk so it priced out as a rt jfk-tlv with a stop in cdg on way there
