This is way too long an argument to have right now and I don’t necessarily think the flag deserves defending but I don’t think it’s fair to call into question someone’s patriotism for defending a symbol of a movement that they believe in (and no, the war was not just about slavery. That was part of it but not all of it. Some of the things they fought for were very American though we don’t like to talk about it.)

Please don’t compare this to a swastika. That would be intellectually dishonest.

Believing in treasonous actions I sure will question your patriotism.

The swastika had other meanings. Trying to say the swastika is as bad as the confederate flag would be intellectually dishonest. We will leave it out of this.

What's the analogy?  It's a hook for a garage opener. Not a noose. If it's normal for something to coincidently be shaped like a swastika so it be. Its not offensive and if it's taken offensively by mistake then an apology is owed

No it is a noose. I have been in hundreds of garages and not one had a rope tied into a noose for the garage door. I am sure you have been in many garages. How many have you seen tied into a noose?

Because their agenda is to fundamentaly change America and all of its history. Meanwhile America is the least racist country in the world. Changing it will only make it worse.

It's all about out country's heritage.  I believe that both the North and the South had a deep love for our country. That's why they fought so hard and gave up their lives. I don't believe you can say that about the Democrats/Left in today's "civil war"

That is not the issue. Saying those who tried to overthrow our government were somehow good guys is rewriting history. One of those traitors  assassinated our president.
