Did they have a worse fatality rate than Elmhurst? How did private hospitals compare overall to NYCH+H? I have no idea and therefore I am not getting involved in the veracity of the specific claim. Do you have numbers one way or another or are you just throwing out the name of a hospital that was hard hit?
I have yet to see and numbers from anyone, just claims.

Liberal states were hit early. Now the red states are getting hit bad because they won't listen to scientific evidence.
The fact is NY/NJ is doing way better now than FL/TX. That is a fact.
FL/TX both have more cases than NY. That is a fact!!!

The big picture is the US has handled this terribly. Our president was a complete idiot with statements like "it is just like the flu" and "15 will be 0". 15 became our 150k deaths. That is fact you can't twist!!!
Enough with the 15 will be zero!!
Everyone was clueless at that point. What were the  Dems doing at point? Leading delegations to Chinatown!

But officer... 🙄

@BP16 not to mess with your narrative, but FL and TX are very split states, and the outbreaks are largely in Blue cities and counties. You know why? Population density, which guides both politics and viral spread. There is no rational argument to be made that the US, on a country-wide level, handled this pandemic with any amount of competence. On a Federal level, this has been a complete failure. That's not to say there's no blame to go around on a local level, as well, but that doesn't give the Trump administration a free pass.
Then I guess almost every European country did a bad Job. death rate in the US is 3.3 compared to Spain 8.1, UK 13.5, Italy 14.1 France 14.3 Germany 4.3 Belgium 13.9 160k deaths in those European Countries and if you add the population from all those countries its about the same as the US around 330M!!!

But keep on blaming everything on Trump because hey why not!
And BTW the US stock market is doing better then European markets

The unemployment rate is the worse you ever seen. Also has nothing to do with the 150K+ deaths.

Seems like it was a calculated decision, not sure by who, to make sure that medical professionals had enough.

Why would people want to work when the Government is giving out $600 a week?

Who's cherry picking? Those are the scientific facts.
Only 32% feel he is handling the covid crisis properly. That is the same 32% of Kool-Aid drinkers he always get like you. I would like to know since he wins the uneducated vote overwhelmingly what part of the 32% is uneducated, 31.99%?  :P

If you need to look now to check the numbers then you owe @yaakov35 an apology.

Sorry, you need to re-read the conversation. I wrote:

The early deaths, for the most part, had nothing to do with the local government response. It had to do with things like timing, medical knowledge, weather, and population density.

He responded:

Of course it had to do with local government.
The hospitals that had the most deaths were all city run. The non city hospitals had far fewer patients dying.

I called BS. Maimonides is my proof that the most deaths didn't ALL happen at city run hospitals, and that private hospitals had FAR fewer patients dying. Now that he made a false statement, and not for the first time, let him back it up with sources that local government was the reason for all the early deaths and that private hospitals didn't have those issues.

Again, that had more to do with timing and the medical knowledge available. Are any of those European countries still dealing with the disaster we're currently seeing?

Maimonides was your response to me not to him. Your initial response can even be read as denying the existence of city owned hospitals altogether.

Maimonides was your response to me not to him. Your initial response can even be read as denying the existence of city owned hospitals altogether.

So let me clarify: the issue was not with public hospitals, because people were dying everywhere. The issue was lack of medical knowledge. To pretend that this is all on local Democrat-run governments is partisan and dishonest.

Why are you under the impression that miamondies had lots of patients dying?? Brooklyn was not very hard hit at all compared to other neighborhoods. But sure just make things up.

At the peak of the pandemic in April, the data suggests, patients at some community hospitals were three times more likely to die as patients at medical centers in the wealthiest parts of the city.
