Any suggestions for a prepaid plan with phone.

Something like the 1000 minutes good for a year, that they have available in the US (for occasional use).

Thanks. I saw that but I don’t believe that would work for someone living in Canada permanently.

Anything similar with a Canadian provider 1000 minutes over one year for $100 or so would be ideal.

I know a few people who live in canada full-time and are on T-mobile unlimited roaming plans. Maybe they're grandfathered in on some old plan but they've never had an issue being here permanently.

For canadian providers, I don't think you'll get as low as $100/yr but maybe something around $15/month CAD. This may help in your search: https://www.whistleout.ca/CellPhones/Guides/Best-prepaid-cell-phone-plans
