Can Bloomberg get Trump voters? I think he would be just as great for the economy and really good on foreign policy. And you don't have to hold your nose as tight.

An interesting thing about this matchup is that it's another NY subway matchup like in 2016. Trump would once again lose his home state but at least not to an out-of-state opponent.
Im old enough to remember when Hillary D. Rodham was the senator from NY

Change Bernie to Trump and I'm sure you can find a post with these exact words 4 years ago.

trump was polling at 35 percent. Bernie no where near . And that makes all the difference.

Trump wasn't winning 35% in the early states.
Sanders will be the Democratic nominee and will hand Trump an electoral landslide victory.

Nationally. What have you seen that suggests that Bernie can get broader support than he has until now?

Had an interesting read, about how Bloomberg will easily win a brokered convention. The superdelegates know that Bloomberg will spend tons on all their campaigns.

Well if he is self funded, all money coming in for dems will go straight to the down ballot races. But makes sense he would additionally pump his own money into trying to flip the senate/win in the house.

He has the most organized campaign, he has the most money coming in of any democratic nominee, and all he has to do is win 25% while the moderate lane is clogged.

Wrong. He needs to win a majority otherwise we get a brokered convention.

Landslide victories don't really exist anymore. We aren't in the 80's. The demographics have changed. Whites vote overwhelmingly for Republicans, and minorities for Democrats. A Republican can never win a state like CA or NY no matter who the Democrats nominate.

If Trump beats Bernie, it will be with similar margins to 2016.

As much as they're love the money Bloomberg would spend, they will need the votes of Bernie supporters more. If they screw him out of the nomination, especially if he has a significant lead, they can kiss their chances of winning the white house goodbye.

Like I said, it's 2016 all over again.

1 - He needs a majority of delegates (in NH for example he got 25% of the vote but 33% of the delegates)

2 - See my previous comment on why they will have to give it to him if he has a (significant) majority.

He can get 0 delegates and his supporters will still believe it's only because its rigged.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

I agree that the democratic party is behind the 8 ball in uniting the party behind a single candidate, and a bunch of Bernie supporters will stay home if he is not the nominee (as in 2016), however Bloomberg can get a much broader appeal especially in swing states. Doesn't matter if you win California by 90 percent. It matters if you win the purple ones.

Right, but lots of those super-delegates are from deep blue states and they can't risk pissing off the Bernie supporters if they want to stay in office.

Although a Republican wont win NY or CA in the next few generations, there are plenty of states that can go to Trump over a socialist/communist like Sanders such as NH,ME,NV,CO,VA,MN and even NM.
I could be wrong on the math but thats 344 to 189.
