Why did Bloomberg even get on the debate stage? Didn't Trump prove in 2016 that you don't need to be at the debates in order to win?

Bloomberg should of stayed out of the debates, it could only of hurt him.

His poor performance was truly stunning. He got a few jabs in (the communism jab, the three-houses jab, etc.), but he got absolutely mauled by Warren--which, by the way, was to be expected. What wasn't to be expected was how flat-footed he was going to be in response. Either he is the worse debater in this election cycle, or his advisors did a piss-poor job of prepping him. Either way, DJT is going to make mince-meat out of the Bloomberg we saw on stage last night.

To this point - when they changed the rules allowing Bloomberg to participate, there was initial backlash about the billionaire buying his way in. But there was also some talk that Warren and others pushed to have him included, so they could face off and engage with him directly. Last night was the reason why.

Warren gains nothing from going after Bloomberg, she should focus on Sanders.
In 3 weeks she will be as relevant as Beto and Kamala Harris.

If he actually stood his ground. and defended his policies and past , instead of kowtowing to the political left, he would've been in decent shape , as he could fill the vacuum of the moderate lane.

The latter statement is true, despite the fact that the first statement is not. She for sure gains from it - look at any of the recaps, most are naming her the 'winner' from last night. Is that 'win' enough to save her? Absolutely not.

Let's say Bernie suddenly has a major medical issue and has to drop out. Would you say she gained nothing from her debate performance in retrospect?

Trump keeps repeating that what he pulled off wasn't easy. Trump has been street fighting on live tv for 40 years while Mayor B sat in boardrooms having intelligent conversations. No way his money can buy him the tact to fend off the abuse his rivals will give him.

At this point in the process, if she is to stay in the game she has to do whatever will give her the biggest boost right now. Clearly that was attacking Bloomberg, not Sanders. I really don't even understand your point of view on this. You seem to be suggesting that she'd have been better off in this specific scenario focusing on Sanders instead of Bloomberg. If that's what you're actually saying, you're off your rocker.
