I don't think it would look normal to walk around with a shotgun over your shoulder.. Make sure to wear a bullet proof vest as well  ;)

On another note, me and a bunch of friends once dressed up at escaped convicts and went into a few stores, when we came out cops were waiting for us. Fun time.

Don't know about NJ but I know FL's concealed weapons permit allows you to carry any weapon that you can conceal on your person. If you can properly conceal the shotgun, it's perfectly legal.
