The thing with the hamster is that running on the wheel is actually what it is trying to do.

Wish I had a photo, but there’s a store in Chicago that literally has plastic bags hanging on a hook right out side in case you “forgot” to bring your own.

Hahaha. I love it when you find a target branded item in amazing savings with a target price of $9.99 and the amazing savings price of $3.99 slapped over it.
I bought a book from Amazon for $2.99, it had on it an Amazing Savings sticker for $1.99 and a BJ's sticker for $5.99
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Any word on what the frum supermarkets have up their sleeve in light of this ban?

On sale. Save $2.
 $11.99 for 1000
That's for the white- almost transparent thank you bags. The black shopping bags (see link) are also on sale but additional $4.73 for shipping, probably weighing the same. Their shipping calculation never makes any sense.

Both of these looks extremely thin, the junky type. Wouldn't pay for such a bag.

A shoplifters dream come true

If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

How thick do bags have to be to avoid the ban? How much thicker than, say, KRM bags?

I didn't mean the local kosher grocery. Walmart, Target, etc have bean counters who will tell you exactly how much this ban will increase their share price.
I'm wondering if the labor costs due to the inefficiency of each shopper having their own solution on how to carry their stuff home won't outweigh the savings this might achieve.

this is what I was thinking, why not every AM put a bunch of bags outside the store on a hook or so "free for the public". There will be for sure loopholes

why help the public when you can make even more $ off of them and no one can say anything because they can blame the government
