I have stayed at both of them. No question in my mind that the Ramada is much better (free breakfast as well). The Tryp has been my worst hotel nightmare ever. The only thing the Tryp has to offer is location.

It's not a nightmare, IMHO at least. Stayed there several times. Rooms are tiny for sure but i always make sure to call the hotel and reserve the suite which is an extra $100 per night. Totally worth it and then you also get breakfast. Can't beat the location. But there are no real services provided.

Both rooms were extremely dirty with empty wrappers and tissues from previous guests and hair between the sheets. A rotting salad from a prior stay was found in the fridge. I had requested a room with two beds which the staff complied with (not without complaint) only to get a room with beds sized for a toddler. The room was so small as to not be able to open my suitcase in full. The thermostat did not work, the bathroom door did not close, and the rug was buckled. I tried bringing these issues up with the hotel staff early on in my stay, but there was often no one at the desk. When I finally did get to speak with someone the reply was dismissive and disrespectful.

I have stayed in many hotels in my life and I have never left a bad review or posted anything publicly. However I feel the need to warn other people who want to enjoy their time in Israel. This was my personal experience, if you would like you can take it as a dp or leave it.

i dont see the suite available for any date online, is the only way to book it by calling them ?
does the $100 upgrade also work for point bookings ?
